Rictor had needed a break from the heat of the jungle jungle and the stupidity of... well, most of the people he knew with the exception of a ten year old girl. Because guys? Were stupid. He couldn't believe that people still wondered why he missed the women from back home.
Just the same, he didn't mind that another guy was there. He just gave him some space after eying him thoughtfully for a second and set about enjoying the water himself.
"Hey," Julio called back, louder than he normally would have. But at least the waterfall wasn't too intense or loud otherwise he'd never have heard the greeting in the first place. "Sorry about interrupting."
Rictor grinned. "No, I live in the compound. But that's as good a reason to be out here as any." He really didn't like living with so many people around. Another benefit to building his own place even if it meant he wouldn't get to have any AC.
He laughed and shook his head. "Yeah. I should have stopped living there when something" Like a vampire "bit me, but since it never bit me again... I dunno. I just ended up staying, I guess."
Julio just looked excited to have anyone want to hear about it. "It was on my neck so... well, I thought it was a vampire. But the bite was funny-looking. Like someone bit me with a lot of razor sharp teeth instead of just fangs."
"No shit?" Dean's body language shifted, the visual equivalent of pulling up a chair. Most vampires he knew had exactly that - a row of razor sharp teeth that descended when they fed. "You got a mark?"
"I think it's mostly faded by now," Rictor said, feeling at his neck. Not that it did any good since he couldn't see with his fingers, but whatever. "Yeah, it happened. Sucked too. No one could figure out what happened."
Dean pressed his fingers to Rictor's neck, a moment later exhaling a soft sound of approval. It felt like the real deal, and when Dean squinted in the moonlight, it looked like the real thing, too.
"Just bit you and left you there?" he asked, telling his tensing body to relax. If the kid was going to turn, he'd have done it long ago.
Rictor nodded slightly. "Yeah. I don't remember most of it. Woke up later feeling woozy and freaked out on my room mate, but nothing happened and the sun didn't bother me or anything so... I guess it was just an ex-vampire who got bored?" Or some asshole who filed down his teeth.
Just the same, he didn't mind that another guy was there. He just gave him some space after eying him thoughtfully for a second and set about enjoying the water himself.

"Hey buddy," he called over the crashing water.
