come go with me.

Living on an island hadn't stopped Veronica Mars from finding ways to fill up her days. She had signed up for more classes than she would ever have envisioned herself taking of her free will in Neptune and spent the rest of her time checking in on people and running through training sessions with Teyla or Arya (or Taser, but those were the ones where she was doing the training). The interim between these things she spent with her friends or poking around, sometimes both.

Sure, there are days when I would kill for a Starbucks or a way of getting movies that let me have more choice. In the meanwhile, there's plenty for me to do.

Today that meant swimming. It had been a cloudy day, but still a hot one, and she'd spent a while in the laundry room digging around until she found a decent swimsuit. There were buttons on it and a belt, and all in all, Veronica thought it was more complicated than a simple black bathing suit had a right to be, but the fact remained that it was the nicest one she'd been able to trick out of the box of doom. Shockingly, sparkles, flowers and itsy bitsy, teeny weeny yellow polka-dot bikinis just aren't my style.

Now, with a few of her textbooks in her messenger bag and a couple of the towels from the Compound lying on a rock near the edge, she was at the smaller of the two waterfalls. It was quieter out there, and while Veronica wasn't always a quiet kind of person, there were times when she just needed to relax. Closing her eyes, she let herself float, drifting on the surface. Peace rarely lasted for long, but she'd always take what she could get.
