Susan was in a mood. While this may seem to be not exactly out of the ordinary for Susan, she had always prided herself on being a logical creature and being in a mood for no good reason only...put her in a mood.
It didnt help that someone new was now sleeping in Anya's bed. At first Susan had been polite, then cold, and then she had done her best to avoid Sally all together. Susan was taking the change very personally, although that couldn't be blamed on Sally. There were a finite number of beds, and people kept showing up - it was only natural Anya's space would be filled eventually. Susan had held out some secret - almost buried - hope that Anya was just "missing", but every day it got pushed a little deeper and Sally moving in seemed to quash any that remained.
Usually when Susan felt like this, she immersed herself into her routine, something she took some strange pleasure in. Back on the disc she scheduled as much as she possibly could, and she held onto no small conviction that the world would be a much better place if she could schedule in her Grandfathers...episodes as well. Her diary might then have looked something like:
9-10am: Reading and writing
10-11am: The history of Lancre
11-1.30pm: Deal with "Family Crisis"
As far as her Grandfather went she was afforded no such luxury, either back on the disc or distressingly here on the island. For no reason other than he shouldn't be able to, Susan had been waiting for Death to show up in the flesh - or lack thereof. Being in a mood, her new roomate and an awful twitching feeling had left Susan distinctly uneasy. While she had no reason to think that today would be any different from yesterday or the vast majority of days before*, Susan found herself completely unable to settle into the comfort of her nice, predictable, routine.
Dismissing Lucy and Coin early with no homework**, Susan spent this particular afternoon stalking around the compound, looking for - well if she was honest, she was looking for someone to blame.
[Timed to Friday afternoon, she is being a bit prickly. Just a warning!]
*With the exception of Halloween.
**A sign of the apocalypse, if ever there was one.
