Beth's thinking about fictional people. She's sitting on the couch in the rec-room with one foot up on the table, and she's thinking about all of the fucking fictional people. She was just at a drag show thrown by Belize (she wrote an essay on Angels in America her first year at York)...She met Ford Prefect on the beach (she dragged her brother's copies of those books to University with her when she moved and refused to give them back). She'd been proposed to by a fucking historical figure.
Beth's thinking about fictional people, and she's thinking about dead people, and she's thinking about Holly's video camera, and she's not sure where those things line up.
Seems like there's a lot of made up people wandering around the place. There's people wandering around here from books she taught to fifteen year olds back in Birmingham, and now what Beth's thinking is that Holly's video camera turning up is a little neat and she's thinking of the fondness that she's always had for bad horror movies.
And if that's true, then it's not fair. She looks at Sarah, at everything that Sarah went through, things that make her suffering, the pain that she remembers, seem trivial, and she wonders what the fuck's wrong with a universe where you can wake up and suddenly be not real anymore.
Beth rubs both hands over her face.
Maybe she just needs to get more sleep...
ooc: Lit teacher having a Crisis of faith? If anyone wants to tag in someone that Beth'll recognise as fictional, I promise she won't canon puncture anyone.
