It seemed like forever since Peter had last worked his shift in the clinic. In some ways, it was. For nearly two months he had lost himself and he wouldn't ever get that time back. Yes, he did remember the things he'd done during those two months he had lost his memory. However, he hadn't been himself. Gwen had been so incredibly strong during those days, even when he was sure she didn't think she had been. Claire, Claude, and Nathan had helped him immensely. Nathan's disappearance was too much for Peter to bear; he couldn't imagine building a family here on the island now without his brother's support, though obviously he was going to have to do just that. Claire's disappearance, so soon after Nathan's, had left an empty space in her, too. Two whole months he'd lost really being her uncle and then, so quickly after he'd remembered, she was gone. He still carried the purple and pink notebook she'd started for him, hoping to help him jog her memories. Claude was the only one left now, Claude and Bennet. Eden, Charlie, and Ando were here, too, but Peter wasn't as close to them. He hadn't even figured out how to tell Charlie and Ando he was sorry Hiro had been taken from the island without it sounding trite. While Hiro had been his friend, he had been something special to both Charlie and Ando.

He wasn't sure why he was feeling so reflective tonight. Maybe it was because he was finally back to work or because Tosh finally had her baby. He didn't know. But he did know he was glad to be alive, glad for Tosh and her baby, and looking forward to his own, his life something he had fought for.

As he worked on various things around the clinic, Peter smiled, lost in thoughts of good things, purposely shoving Sylar and what had happened as far back into the recesses of his mind as he could.

[Timed to last night. If you need medical care, don't forget to fill out the form. Tags will be slow because I'm not feeling well, but please feel free to tag him for help or just to chat!]
