Her...Bunny?

Elliot wasn't sure if she was having a good week or not.

Work (what little there was of it, anyway) was going fine, she had met a whole bunch of new people, and she'd even gone on a date. That was where she was stuck. A date, just months after the thing with Keith - 'The Thing'? Sheesh, I almost married the guy - and she'd enjoyed it. Parts of it, anyway. The parts where Keith's face and JD's big puppy eyes hadn't haunted her. She didn't even know why she had thought of JD; that bridge had been burned a long time ago.

I guess I just miss him. And that was all there was to it: she missed him. She didn't miss Keith, though, she just felt guilty. If he turned up she'd probably have to hang herself.

She missed Carla, too, and Turk, and so many other people. The more involved she got here the more she wished she was back home, and it was getting to her. It didn't help that Dr. Cox was here, too - he was just about the most un-comforting person from home the island could dredge up. Fortunately, she hadn't seen him around lately.

Elliot hadn't seen Tony around, either. That was also a fortunate thing. She wasn't sure what she'd say to him if she did. She was pretty sure that she shouldn't go on a date with him again in case she did something stupid. Stupider than going on a date with him, anyway.

All these thoughts and emotions swirled around in her head, making her feel vaguely sick, until she couldn't stand it anymore. She grabbed a pair of sneakers and tied up her hair and jogged down the path to the beach, or at least tried to - there was a cage blocking her path. When she stopped, panting, and knelt beside it to investigate, she found a small card shoved between the bars. It said ELLIOT.

There was a tiny, black ball of fluff inside the cage. It looked out at her reproachfully with beady eyes. Elliot didn't realize it was a rabbit until one of the ears in the fluffy mass twitched.

It looked, somehow, quite familiar.
