Contrary to popular expectation and her own good sense, Muffin loves to be groomed. That she's only just discovered this is no measure of the depth of her enjoyment, and now that Newbie's found himself with a Deluxe Grooming Station, she insists he see to her coat and nails at least once a day.
Fortunately, Newbie doesn't seem to mind, and since it's a nice day has hauled the kit outside to see to Muffin's nails in the shade. Muffin puts her paw in his at the motion from his hand, and Newbie holds it there carefully, examining each nail for splinters and burrs. Once each paw has been assessed, Muffin jumps into his lap, purring as he pulls the brush through her coat.
At a catch in her fur, Muffin swivels her head around to hiss, but Newbie's already reaching for the detangler foam. "All right already!" he exclaims, clearly still wary of her claws, clipped or no. Muffin's bug eyes narrow at the cannister. The foam is the one part of the kit she doesn't like, even with the inclusion of the dryer, and the thought of him smearing it into her glistening coat rather than combing out her tangles like he ought is just too much!
Newbie rears back as Muffin squirms and leaps away, in swift motion taking her tangled coat to the Compound roof to be groomed the old-fashioned way.
"Fine!" Newbie shouts up at her, swinging his brush. "Be that way! But you're gonna get split ends!"
