Eddie was sans child this morning and moving around the kitchen all the quicker for it. Said child had managed to get into the jam the moment Eddie brought her into the kitchen, so said child was now enjoying a nice warm bath while her mum tried to get bits of strawberry and gelatin out of her hair.
Eddie, once he'd finished frying up some ham and eggs, put out the rest of the jam (it wasn't like she'd been rolling in it) and some toast and remembered at the last minute to put out some milk and juice and - shit! - put on a pot of coffee. Cooking for more than a half dozen people was something he was still getting used to. Still, he managed to do it all in about half the time it would have taken with Emmy's help, and didn't think he'd forgotten anything. There was even a bowl of apples and oranges off to the side from which he helped himself to an apple before finally sitting down.
