The beach was nice, once you got used to having sand in odd places and the constant fishy smell. Elliot found that she didn't mind it here so much, at least not yet. She was pretty sure sooner or later she'd get sick of lazing around in the sand and head back to the compound, but for now, she was actually - gasp - taking the time to relax a bit.
She was sitting beneath a palm tree with her sneakers off, legs stretched out and feet buried in the sand. She'd taken her bandage off to give her ankle some fresh air - the swelling had gone down considerably and it was beginning to feel a lot better. Walking wasn't as painful, though she wasn't bothering with that right now. Walking was for losers and uptight people, and Elliot Reid was doing her very best not to be uptight at the moment.
After everything that had happened recently, it was proving a bit difficult. But she was giving it a try anyway.
