The last twenty-four hours had been a blur of sorts.

Ellie was still trying to wrap her head around everything that had happened. As much as she believed her brother when he told her about the island, it took actually stepping out to stare at the snow-covered landscape for it to really sink in. She wasn't home anymore. She might not see home ever again.

Sleep hadn't come easy. After the umpteenth time of tossing and turning, she finally left the bed and headed up to the kitchen. It was still early, with the sun just peeking into the tiny windows of the room, so it was actually fairly peaceful for a spot she could already guess was a hub of activity. She put on a pot of coffee, actually making a little extra in case someone else wanted some - she liked being helpful - and sat down with her own cup once it was brewed.

Really, she knew it was a matter of thinking positive. Devon would show up eventually, just like she had, and then at least her family would be all together again. She swore to herself she'd really check out the building once she was finished drinking the cup, and maybe find some more clothes from the box Chuck had shown her the night before. If she was going to be stuck here for a while, she figured her best bet would be to emerse herself in everything around her, and try to make sense of it all. It would be hard, but that never stopped Ellie before.

But that would be a little later. For now, she tried to relax as the mug warmed her hands. It definitely wasn't as good as the coffee she'd have back home, but with the night she had just been through, it was undeniably needed.

[OOC: Set after a soon-to-be-finished private debut. Feel free to tag the new Bartowski on the island, and feel free to partake in the coffee she's just made. -g-]
