Isabel had been cooking and baking nonstop for what felt like days. Of course, it really hadn't been, but staying in one spot doing the same thing over and over again tended to feel like an eternity. Thank God there were other people helping her get ready for the Saturnalia meal and the festivities in general.

Whenever she'd had free time during the past week, Isabel had gone hunting for Nativity scene pieces. The compound keep giving her pieces here and there until today, when Isabel realized she finally had a full set. It was time to put the Nativity on the display (and take a break from baking bread), and so she took a large duffel bag full of the items she'd been stockpiling out to the front of the compound.

Granted, the pieces might have been a bit...unconventional...but she would make do with what she could. Besides, the spirit of the whole thing was what really mattered, wasn't it?

Carefully, Isabel pulled the various pieces out of the bag, first setting up the igloo-looking inn. Next went the rubber duck in the manger, the troll Mary and Joseph, and an odd assortment of wisemen and animals. An angel that looked suspiciously like Dolly Parton went on the top of the barn. Last, but not least, Isabel placed the Caganer in the back of the Nativity, hopefully well-disguised by a few leprechauns.
