There was a barbecue coming up and that meant hunting. Just the thought had Stu up and outta bed before the sun, dressed warm and ready to go. He'd already scouted ahead when he'd take Kojak and Lady out, and so as the sun rose, Stu was in a tree, waiting. Patience was the hardest part, but from his perch, he had a good view and when the big deer wandered by, he shot it. Simple as that.
It was dead and he scrambled down and started to dress it so he could haul it back closer to civilization. He tried to be quick before the scent of blood on the wind brought the wolves. He'd seen their tracks, and that was one thing he didn't want no part of. He thought he caught sight of something big and hairy off behind the underbrush, but so long as it didn't come closer, he was just fine with that.
He sang a little Cash as he gutted it and debated about the head, settling sadly on the fact that no matter how pretty that rack was, it was also damn heavy. He'd have to leave it, so he made quick work of taking the head off the carcass. The scavengers would have their feast, and he would have plenty for folks after they got the Little Bit Christened.
[He's in the forest, but the gunshot was loud and he's making enough noise to keep scavengers and predators at bay. Timed to this morning. Catch him in the forest or lugging the thing back]
