onward and upward

It had been a little more than a month since the events of Halloween, and while Caspian was not entirely up to what he felt was his usual self, he could not sit still for much longer. His recovery was much slower than he would have liked, and it made him restless. The news of the Lannister boy did not help matters, nor did the coming of the snow ( Read more... )

It was not hard to notice such a ship in the water, especially when it had not been there previously. It's appearance was enough that he headed over to take a look, and found, surprisingly, someone on it.

"Greetings," he called out, though was, as always, keenly aware of where his hand was and how fast he could grab his sword if needed. The man did not look like a threat, but one could never be too careful.

"Greetings," said Caspian in return, turning to look down at the man on the dock, and after a moment he recognized him as the knight who had won the melee in the tourney in the past summer. "Sir Glenn, yes? I believe you had a good showing in the Summerfell tourney, if I remember a-right, though I do not think we had the chance to meet."

"Indeed," he said, and then, upon pausing, he realized he did indeed recognize the man - it had been a while. He relaxed his stance a bit. "And ye were one of the archers, aye? I do hope, once this strange snow leaves, that we may again have such a tourney."

"And runner-up in the joust," said Caspian, who had been quite pleased with his performance in the lists, even as out of practice as he was (there wasn't much chance to practice jousting here). "I would compete again, were there to be another tourney. There is little here that is the same as at home, but at least that is somewhat familiar." He grinned, unable to hide how pleased he was that his beloved ship had appeared. "That, and my ship."

"I would as well. I did nae participate in the ones in my own homeland, but I did enjoy watching them," he explained. His gaze moved to the ship he stood upon. He had not been on many vessels in his life, but it was not hard to see it was impressive. "I do nae remember seeing it before, which is odd, as I have passed this area quite a few times..."

"It just appeared," Caspian explained, gesturing for the other man to come aboard. "Very likely only moments ago, from the look of her. I have been told that sometimes things from our past lives appear here on the island without warning, and even seen it happen to others betimes, but I did not expect it to happen to me."

Glenn was not as at ease on the water as he was on land, but when he was offered a chance to go aboard, he took it. He was a bit more careful in his movement, however.

"I have heard of such things. Who knew it could send such a large gift! Ye must be quite pleased to see it," he mused, looking around once he was on it. "It is quite a fine vessel, sir.
