As of today, Eddie had known his daughter for more than half her life. One day more than half her life, but still more. It wasn't as good as having known her since birth, but it still made him feel a bit better about having missed the first year. He got all the good stuff, after all, where Emmy started going from being a baby to being a real little person with a real little personality.
Which she was currently demonstrating by making growling noises while flying her turtle through the air.
He and Lily hadn't really been extravagant for Emmy's birthday, just a few decorations up in the common area of the Hamlet, a big cake and ice cream, some snacks for the guests. They'd invited all their friends and Emmy's, and that seemed about right for a newly-two-year-old.
Lennox, however, had other ideas. Once he was through with it, the common area was dripping with decorations, a lot of them inexplicably orange, and there was food to feed an army. Apparently, if he was going to share his birthday with Emmy, they were going to do it right.
Big party or small, Eddie was just happy that everyone, including Emmy and her flying turtle, seemed to be having a great time.
[ joint birthday party for Emmy and Lennox! If you have or are a small child, or if you know Emmy and/or her parents, you can assume that you've been specifically invited. Everyone else can assume Lennox told them to show up. And I do mean everyone; this is open to all. XD ]
