The Tabula Rasa Day festivities were set up to Angela's satisfaction. Finally, after several days of very hard work by her and the Party Planning Committee, which really had a lot more potential than the one she had headed up in Scranton. At least these people tried.
And some of them tried too hard, she thought grimly, tearing down the one string of orange decorating a corner of the Hub. That Jim Lennox was going to get a talking to next time she saw him, even if she did have to admit that he did an acceptable job with the rest of it, in very nice shades of blue.
The music, she had to admit was very nice. Tasteful piano by the man she wasn't going to tell was Harry Connick Jr, when he thought his name was Clay as long as she got to listen to him. He was very talented. Later, the music would turn to rock and roll, which Angela didn't completely approve of, but it was what the people wanted. She supposed, since it was everyone's party, she ought to let them have it even if it wasn't quite what she wanted.
And the food was very good, cobblers and muffins and even ice cream, and some dead animal cooking in a pit, which Angela wrinkled her nose at even though most everyone else was pleased with it. It was very difficult being a vegetarian in this land of carnivores, she thought with a sigh. She didn't approve of the liquor being served either, but again, she would give the people what they wanted until she taught them better.
