It was late afternoon, the time of day when the sun was low in the sky and didn't burn Alcuin's still-pale skin. He'd taken to going for walks in the jungle rather than on the beach, gathering ingredients, mostly flowers and herbs and fruits. Phedre was still making lotions and shampoos, and Alcuin had begun experimenting with massage oils, and well, other even more practical uses for lubricants. Coconut oil if harvested properly was a perfect base, though he suspected that some people grew quite sick of the smell after a while. After reading a few books on the basics of perfumery he'd begun seeking out flowers and other things that might lend a different scent pallet to the oils.

Today he'd come across a beautiful patch of orchids, and went about picking the ones that were starting to wilt, or weren't as vibrant as the rest, for his experiments. Though he did set aside a few - the most beautiful color purple - thinking how lovely one would look in Phedre's hair.

Softly, almost under his breath, he sang something he'd heard on the jukebox a few days ago. "Well I love you so dearly, I love you so clearly, wake you up in the mornin' so early, just to tell you I got the wanderin' blues..."
