Lyanna was to be wed. That was all Dany could think about in the days following the news. She'd been distinctly off kilter since then, but she did her best to try and act normal for Alys and Billy's sakes.
Owen had Alys today. Practice for his own child which was to come in a few short months. Dany didn't mind. She'd grown to like the man over the time he'd spent at their house and it gave her a chance to think about things instead of distracting herself from what really concerned her by fussing over Alys. Not that Alys didn't deserve fussing over, of course. It seemed some days that that was all Dany did was fuss over the child. She was not complaining by a long shot, just...enjoying the break while she had it and quietly trying not to worry as she assumed all parents did when their child was out of their care.
She was in the recroom, fingers skimming over titles of books when she ran across one yellow paperback with gold text that read "A Game of Thrones". She scoffed and passed it by. She was done playing the game of thrones and nether the seven nor the old gods nor the gods of the island would get her to take part in that here. When she got home again, yes, but as the days passed the desire to go home waned ever so slowly. Now she was a mother first and all she wanted was what was best for her family.
And that included Lyanna. She hadn't wept when she heard the news at first. She'd sat there stoically taking it like the Queen she once was, still was if you asked her. Now...now was different. Now there was nobody she knew watching her that she was aware of. Now she could let silent tears trapse down her cheeks as her fingers found "Women Loving Women" on the shelf. If only it were so easy.
