Sybil had had no difficulty or problem writing up last minute invitations and giving them to anyone Maladicta and Sacharissa said ought to be present to celebrate William de Worde's birthday, and had employed (for free!) Postmaster von Lipwig's help, and had offered her own aid (and Young Sam's) in decorating The Times office for the event.
The Duchess of Ankh really knew how to class up a joint.
There was a cake, courtesy of one Veronica Mars, and a plethora of hors douvres, and a good deal of beverages to choose from and, once desks had been relatively cleared and additional chairs brought in, places to sit. She had temporarily covered the large sign on the wall that said I HATE IT HERE because it seemed somewhat antithetical to a festive atmosphere, and put the dragon away in her own suite so it would not cause trouble. To be quite honest, it made her feel useful. Parties were as much a Ramkin gift as being the last one standing on a battlefield was, both of which Sybil was accomplished in.
