Watchmen were particular about many things1. A Watchman was particular about his boots, about the route he took through the city, about where he stood to keep dry from a sudden shower...Ned himself had always prefferred the back porch of the Church of Small Gods, and now there was no raining, and no Church of Small Gods, either.
He'd left Rogue in bed that morning and found himself in the kitchen, full of shiny things which Ned didn't understand and, to all intents and purposes, he was staring into the depths of a mug of tea.
Watchmen were particularly particular about tea.
Tentatively, as though he expected the mug to bite him, Ned picked up the mug and took a sip.
He frowned.
"Bugger."
1 Well...good watchmen anyway.
