Emmy had discovered dancing.
It wasn't exactly dancing, more spinning in circles until she got dizzy and fell on her butt, or running around the chair that Lily was sitting on cheering. It wasn't that Lily was hiding, sitting there in the chair with her knees drawn up, watching as her little girl essentially lost her mind.

He paused in the doorway, his acquisitions draped over one arm. "The child has gone made," he intoned, striding over to the little girl and placing his palm on her forehead to stop her spinning. "It's alright, however. We'll make use of you as a curling girl yet!"

Instead, she took a deep breath and managed to smile almost sweetly.
"Hello, Gordon."

"Ah-hah," he said, observing her. "There you are, my girl. A lovely, bright girl you've got," he went on, observing as she wheeled in a tight circle. There was a gentle thump as she fell to the ground.
"Took after her father, it seems. And not just for the curling."
