James had considered hunting a shark or a dinosaur, but inevitably any sort of hunting excursion reminded him of Dexter who was, of course, very much no longer on the island. He could have still attempted to venture into the wilderness and defeat some creature, but he simply wasn't going to be able to give it his all.
This led to the former agent to sitting on the boulders near the ocean, weaving a net for fishing and brooding in so much as he ever allowed himself to brood. He enjoyed watching the waves roll in and out anyway. The view might have been nicer from a yacht, but the relative peaceful silence made up for the lack of stimulating sights.
After an hour or so, Bond even allowed himself to relax slightly, removing his shoes and resting his bare feet against the smooth stones. He avoided the sand, however, and kept an eye for any small, minute movements or new arrivals that might wash up onto the shore. Crabs, jellyfish and other unpleasant aquatic creatures were simply a natural part of life, but he intended to avoid them.
