There was something seriously wrong with Peter Pan's mouth.
One of his teeth was loose. It felt like it was going to fall out.
He didn't know when it had started getting loose, but he was almost positive that it wasn't his fault. Peter hadn't bumped into anything or got hit in the mouth or anything, but his front tooth was still wiggling and loose. He'd been just bout to go to Eostre and tell her about it, when he realized what must have been the matter. It was the sort of thing that pirates talked about.
Maybe Peter had scurvy and it was making his teeth fall out.
A normal boy would have gone to the doctor or at least to his mother, but then, a normal boy would also have known that everyone's teeth fall out as they grow up. Instead, Peter took curing his scurvy in his own hands.
He was sitting at the kitchen counter, face grave as he ate an orange. He was solemn as he stuck a section of it into his mouth, tonguing the loose tooth nervously.
From the large pile of peels in front of him, it seemed that he had been at this a while. But his tooth was still loose.
[Come explain to the Lost Boy that everyone's teeth fall out. Late or ST tags totally welcome]
