Emmy had once again managed to escape and was tearing across the grass ahead of Lily, who was calling her to no real avail.
"Emmy! Emmy! Emily Iris Strombeck will you come back here right now."
Emmy was so caught up in laughing at her mother that she ran straight into the man sitting on a pile of wood. Lily made a soft sound and exasperated protest and broke into a jog.
She was too old for this She was going to have to get that child a leash.
"Well, she sure got some legs on 'er. Looks like you got your hands full," Bill grinned, looking down at the little girl with a kind smile, "Hey there, Emmy. I'm Bill." He held out his hand to her to shake, and it looked like those little hands of hers were only gonna fit 'round 'bout two of his big fingers.
Jill had been by and large walking her horse towards the Compound, but had let her cut loose, trotting a bit as she watched the path ahead for any sort of people or wildlife that'd scare her- She knew enough about horses, but she'd heard there was a blacksmith, and that might be as close as she could get to a farrier to make sure that she was healthy.
She spied a bit of white- blame Robin for her noticing things like that, but she sat back, the horse slowing, and then stopping as Jill tried to remember if she knew this man. He was vaugely familiar in that way that you'd only seen a person once or twice, and... well.
"Hullo- Do- Well, if you don't mind me asking, but do you need help?"
Bill looked up at the sound of a voice, catching sight of the young girl on the horse- real impressive animal, shielding his eyes from the sun and then lookin' back down at his makeshift pile o' supplies.
"Well... I think I'll be fine, soon's I can figure where to get started."
She swung off her horse, looping her reins around a branch before she moved closer holding out her hand. "I'm Jill- Jill Pole. It's nice to meet you." She smiled, and looked at the pile.
"Not to be trite, but it's best sometimes, to maybe start at the beginning?" She flushed. "Sounds horridly silly, but just... is there where you'd like to build?"
"Bill Pardy," he said, giving her hand a firm but gentle shake and nodding toward the horse, "That's a powerful lookin' animal you got there."
He let himself take it all in, just once more, to make up his mind, then nodded with a touch o' finality, "Yeah, this looks like the spot. What'd'ya think? No good?"

"This one yours?" he asked the woman huffing her way down the path, though the answer was plan as day.
