Cecily was wandering about the island when she arrived at the giant waterfall that stood before her. It was such a beautiful sight and yet she could hardly stand it. She loved this island. It was everything she adored about her fantasies, and yet...

Well, something was just missing. As she stared at the waterfall in front of her, her breath became ( Read more... )

It is not every day--in fact, not very many days at all, which is probably fortunate--that Robb and Grey Wind encounter crying girls while coming home from patrol. Grey Wind, concerned, starts trotting toward her until Robb calls him back--some people are more traumatised than others by very large wolves, and he thinks perhaps they ought not make things any worse.

"Are you all right?" he asks, realising it's not a very sensible question.

Cecily heard the man just barely over the crash of the waterfall and the sharp intakes of her breath, but she did indeed hear him. She looked up to find a rather large animal and a man behind it. She stood and brushed off her skirt, which still had a large tear in it from the first day she arrived, and backed a little away from the animal. She wiped her tears and her nose and attempted a smile.

"I am quite...quite unwell I am afraid to say." She looked worriedly at the animal but found it difficult to tear her eyes away from the man in front of her.
"Thank you, though, sir, for asking, I mean." She paused and realized how rude she was being.
"Oh! I am Miss Cecily Cardew. Pray, call me Cecily."

"A pleasure to meet you, Cecily," Robb says politely. "I'm Robb Stark. This is Grey Wind," he adds, gesturing to the wolf, "and he gets a bit worried about people when he sees them upset. I hope he didn't startle you."

"Oh no" She forced her smile wider and continued to wipe her tears. "How very sweet of him to worry." Cecily was not quite sure what to say. She felt awkward and still a bit sad, so she went along with the things she asked others she met.

"What time are you from, Mr. Stark?"

"Time?" Robb looks surprised by the question. "It was two-ninety-nine as we reckon it, and I have been here a year and a half past that. But if you come from Earth, lady, you'll find the calendars an uneven match."

Cecily looked at him for a little with a confused glance. She didn't quite understand what he had said.
"I do indeed come from Earth. England, in fact. I have never heard of unmatching calenders, though." Cecily walked toward the waterfall, laughing at her silliness for crying when such a beautiful thing was near. On this island, time didn't truly matter. Yet thinking over the words the man said, she began to cry once more, and even louder.

"You have been here an entire year and a half? Oh, am I never going to see my family again?" She had meant to think it, but Cecily's thoughts seemed to always come out her mouth.

Robb means to tell her he's from Winterfell, but doesn't; at her tearful question Grey Wind pads over to lick comfortingly at her hand.

"That's not certain," Robb says, trying to be reassuring. "Some people don't stay that long, and others...well, most of my family is here."

Cecily began to perk up when she heard his words. "Really!" Her smile widened once more. She turned to the animal and cautiously pat it on the head. It seemed nice enough, and it was just adorable.
"Thank you Grey Wind, and you Mr. Stark. You have made me feel quite foolish for being so upset about things." Cecily spoke with softness and it took her a moment to realize that what she said could make her seem ungrateful and quite rude. "Oh! I mean that in the nicest way...you made me feel severely better, indeed. Sincerely." She laughed. Her laugh was bubbly and contagious, or so she thought, and she continued to laugh while she looked out onto the waterfall.

Robb can't help but laugh as well, when she's doing that. "I'm glad," he says, "and Grey Wind is as well, I assure you. There are never any guaratees here," he adds, "but anything can happen."

"How very mysterious. I love a good surprise. Well...usually I do, I really do. Some surprises are less enjoyable than others, I must admit." She looked at Robb for a moment and bit her lower lip. "I think we are going to be very great friends, Mr. Stark. No... I know we are going to be very great friends, indeed." Her smile shone brightly in comparison to her drying tears and Cecily began to feel that all was right again, even if those she loved were so far away. She would see them again, she was sure. But then something rather odd occured to her... the friends she made here on the island, such as Penny or Eden, or even Mr. Robb Stark... would she ever see them again when she went home?

And then there's the matter of people disappearing, but Robb does not want to trouble her further with that, at least not yet. "I'd like that," he says with a little bit of a bow.

Cecily bowed her head down in response, her joy to his words played easily across her face. She was never one to hide her emotions, she never thought it was neccesary. She turned back to the waterfall. "Oh I do wish I had more clothing so that I might go for a swim." She looked at the cool water longingly.

"Have you looked in the box in the compound?" Robb asks helpfully. "My sister seems to have found a fair amount of swimming costumes, there."

Cecily hadn't searched the Compound fully. She had only seen the sleeping quarters and the rec room, which Penny had shown her. "A box? Filled with swimming clothing? No, I have not. Perhaps you may show me?"

"Filled with clothing in general," Robb says. "It seems to magically refill itself, which is fortunate in that my sister would otherwise have cleaned it out and left nothing for anyone else, and unfortunate if one is left trying to find a place in our house not covered with her things." He says it all with immense fondness, leading Cecily back toward the compound. "I don't promise you'll find anything you'll like, but it's useful, anyway."

When they arrived at the box, Cecily peered inside, hoping to see anything that she could change into. She reached in and pulled out men's pants which seemed to be missing 7/8ths of the pant legs and a shirt that seemed to be a very tight fitting undershirt. She laughed when she pulled the clothing out.

"I have never seen such little clothing for an outfit." She reached in again and it seemed that nothing else was in there. She looked back at Mister Stark with a confused expression. "Am I to swim in this, do you suppose?"
