Things aren't always what they seem.

It was late. Likely too late to be sitting on a fencepost in the dark, staring in at the sheep. They one that wasn't asleep was resting it's head against her leg as she idly scratched it. The moon was out already, even though the sky wasn't completely dark yet.

Funny how life always went in circles. Here she was, taking care of animals. Sort of taking care anyway. She hadn't done that since she was Aud. She'd been lonely and out of place then too. Not as lonely and out of place as she was here. Ever since Sam had pulled a gun on her, for just being herself... She couldn't get it out of her head, that scene. The feeling in her gut that she was soalone here. Spike, Buffy, Faith, and yet... No one that was really hers, or who really understood her. Not in the way Xander had.

She was used to people finding her frustrating, or oddly literal, or amusing, or so many things. She could handle that. She was used to it. This... this she hated.

No Xander here. It made her feel lonlier to think of it. To think of the wasted time after the wedding-that-never-was. They'd worked things out, sort of, in that last while. But even if she hadn't come to this island, she'd be dead, and he'd be alone. Without her.

There was no happy ending this time.

The sheep bleated then, and her fingers brushed something... Not wool, smooth, yet sharp. Looking down she saw what was now covering the sheep. White stain, with beads.

It couldn't be. It had to be.

Sliding off the fencepost she pulled the dress into her arms. She'd recognise it anywhere. It was hers. It had been hers.

Here.

And still no Xander.

[[OOC: One very emo ex-demon with her wedding dress for a wedding that never was clutched in her arms, in a sheep paddock. Please please please cheer her up. She's been demanding this ep for a bit now.]]
