Father's Day.

The whole idea behind the day resonated wrong with Chase, rubbing him in an ill way. People out there, all around the world, they had decent fathers to celebrate and to thank. What was he supposed to thank his father for? Building him up with so many abandonment issues that he resembled a small fortress? He still paid his dues and went to bring flowers and prayers to his Dad's grave, hanging around there and talking things out with the small stone marker.

He thought about other Dads and eventually, he started to think about himself as a father; as something he had been wanting since a year-and-some ago, but had dismissed after everything had slowly gone wrong. Now, the thoughts were creeping back. He would eventually factor the Doctor into this scenario, but for the moment all he knew was that he would be a good father. He would do everything right and if he couldn't hit the mark, then he'd at least get it in the right county.

He made his way down the mountain, still sore from two nights back and the marks not fading just yet. When he got back to the Compound, he stopped in, just for ice, just a little for his back and maybe for something to eat, since lately, he'd been eating more and more; likely to make up the calories from his runs and swims.

[Plots, woo. He's in a very good mood, so is good time. As always, late tags are love.]
