Lily and Emmy had puzzled long and hard about what to give Daddy for Father's day. Emmy had been all for presenting her daddy with a frog, but Lily had pointed out that Eddie was a big boy and, if he wanted a frog, he would surely have one. Plus, mommy wasn't sure that she wanted a frog in the house and, anyway, Uncle Chris would probably step on him.
They had eventually reached a compromise.
Emmy and Lily were picking flowers for daddy or, rather, Emmy was picking flowers enthusiastically, bringing them back to Lily by the handful, and Lily was discarding most of the grass and making a bouquet out of them.
"Do you think Daddy will like his flowers, Em?"
"Yes!" shouted Em, and tugged on a clump of grass so hard that she upended herself and momentarily dissapeared from view.
