Alcuin didn't have many students, but he was pleased with the few that he had, and was glad that teaching French gave him something useful to do. After all, learning languages had encompassed a large part of his childhood. Delaunay was above all things very clever, and had known how much Alcuin would benefit as a spy if he understood those who didn't suspect it.
Though honestly, it was amazing what people would say even in his native tongue, when he was standing there. That was the advantage of Alcuin being more decoration than anything else. Who lowers their voice around a piece of art?
He'd told his students that he would spend the day on Saturday in the rec room in case any of them had any questions, or simply wanted some extra help outside of class. With such a small group there was certainly room for individual attention, and it wasn't as if he had more important ways to spend his time.
He was sitting on the ground in the rec room, his legs twisted underneath him in a meditation position that Giles had taught him. He had a Japanese textbook in his hands. He'd decided that one way to help his students might be to remind himself what it feels like to learn a language from the ground up. Even when Alcuin had studied Latin with Giles and Spanish with Giacomo, he'd picked them up incredibly quickly simply because of his proclivity for romance languages. But this - it was something different entirely, and it was reminding him what sort of obstacles his students might be facing.
[OOC: *handwaves previous French classes* Especially hoping for Alcuin's students to stop by! Maybe include some info in their first tag about how they're doing with the class, etc. :) But open to anyone!]
