Mac had been starting to think she was getting to be a little bit hardened against strange occurences. She was so, so wrong. Because unicorns were beyond strange. Unicorns were, well, Veronica was going to be unhappy that she'd missed them, to say the least, because they were awesome.
Mac approached the two guys, and more importantly, the two insanely awesome unicorns. "You guys alright?" she called out as she walked over.
The unicorn Dennys sat on raised a hoof and stamped on the earth twice, but made no other movement, not really, staying put as the girl approached.
Dennys was just happy she was dressed and normal height. Although, even that was a little strange, and he kept glancing between her face and her shirt. "I think so," he said, mostly sure. "I feel okay. Thanks."
And then he glanced over at his brother, asking the same question of him with his eyes.
Sandy met his brother's eyes and nodded once -- their very own language and a sign that yes, he was doing okay and that she seemed harmless. "Yeah," he said not unkindly for the girl, "We're good." She looked like she belonged in their school back home.
The unicorn seemed to register when Sandy mentally made this connection, so as if to reassure him, his unicorn clopped towards her a few steps without his permission, snuffling in a friendly manner. "If you don't mind my asking, do you live around here?" After all his time in the desert it seemed odd that someone would live in that concrete building.
"Yeah, actually," Mac said, moving closer to the unicorn and putting her hand out a little cautiously. "I live in that giant monstrosity back there," she said, inclining her head towards the compound.
Sandy was busy staring at said giant monstrosity. It looked rather ugly, actually, and not at all friendly like Grandfather Lamech's tent had been.
His unicorn ducked its head and whuffled encouragingly, the light cast by its ivory horn brightening significantly when it patiently nosed her hand. "And are there any seraphim about?" he added.
Mac had been about to answer the first boy when the second asked his question. "Huh?" she asked. "I...seraphim? I really don't think so." She quietly boggled for a moment. "Oh, also, welcome. You're now on a screwed up tropical island."
"Seraphim are ... well, I guess they're a bit like angels," Dennys explained, noticing her hesitation. He wasn't sure if they were angels himself, but it was the most apt description.
Sandy felt they were at least getting somewhere. If there were no seraphim, then there likely weren't any nephilim, and at least they wouldn't have to worry about their deceitful tricks again.
It was rare that people (or beings in general) did not like the twins; it said something about nephilim that they'd been decidedly hostile to their presence. "Island? As in with water all around?" he asked. "Fresh water, perhaps?"

"And where is here? I mean, in a broader sense. We're supposed to be in America. New England. Where it's winter."

He frowned. "Screwed up how?"
