Ainsley hardly minded a crowd, having been subjected very often to the crowds of government and Senate and Supreme Court Justices, so standing up in front of everyone, her only concern was, 'was that really potatoes in the kitchen earlier and will they all be gone if I talk too long here ( ... )

"Speaking as a representative of the current Island School, as well as for myself, I would be extremely interested in higher education classes," Klaus piped up.

River didn't like to call attention to herself in situations like this, but she sat up straighter in her chair at this idea. As good as the island school was, it was a bit lacking for those, like River, who were already more than proficient in the subjects currently offered.

"What will you do for teachers?" she asked before she could stop herself. "Are there a lot of people willing to teach more advanced subjects?"

She didn't think Dr. McKay, for example, would be very eager to take on any other students when he was sometimes so grumpy just to have River, who he liked.

"I have, in my time, noticed that when introduced to a great number of people that they have their doctorate, which speaks to their skill in the subjects," Ainsley turned her attention to the young woman and speaking in a more personal, conversational tone. "And on Earth, to earn your PhD, it required a presentation to your peers, so I do think we're capable of a system like that here!"

River nodded; that made sense to her. "That's pretty much how it works when I'm from, too, though I didn't quite make it that far myself. I think that sounds like a good idea, and I hope we can find teachers for whoever wants them. Thank you."

River sat down, glad to have any focus off of her again.

"I'd like to speak to that, if I may," Remus said, addressing Ainsley as well as the crowd at large. "I'm Remus Lupin, and I am in charge of the Island School, which was the idea of my associate Klaus-" he gestured to indicate Klaus, standing nearby- "and has just started this past week. We have some excellent teachers at the school, as well as several students of all ages, and I am confident it will be a success.

"I think higher education classes are an excellent idea. I don't see why we couldn't look into adding them at the second term."

Rosie tried to remain a neautral party in these types of situations, but couldn't help it when her interest was piqued by the thin blonde woman. As a Literature teacher at a University, she couldn't help but become interested in the subject of higher education. Standing up somewhat shyly, she absently smoothed her hair and smiled lightly.

"I'm rather new here myself, but I think that is a lovely idea. I taught classic Literature at a University back home, New York--2004, and if anyone decides to take up this idea, I'm willing to offer my services as a teacher should anyone be interested."
