Anne had not been neglecting any of her duties. She still arrived at the IPD office for each shift that she was expected to, and she was busy preparing her lessons for the opening of the island school. But it was from the garden and the animals that she derived her greatest consolation these days. (As far as her duties went, at least, for her greatest consolation she got, of course, from Ariel.)

The garden was already recovering nicely from the many pairs of feet, both human and beast, that had trampled through it during that dreadful dinosaur affair, and Anne was just finishing making a fresh batch of butter from the cream she'd gathered over the past few days. The physical work felt very satisfying, for who could give in to their emotions when they were churning butter? Except perhaps anger, but Anne wasn't feeling anger right now, and even her sadness was fading into a kind of melancholy. She had a great deal of imagination, after all, and each time she lost someone she loved she eventually came around to imagining the many wonderful things they might be experiencing off of the island. Anne took her consolation where she could find it.

[ooc: open to all, old and new. anne would particularly like to see some friends she might not have spoken to in a little while. this also means that there's fresh butter and buttermilk in the kitchen today. :) ]
