It had been a rousing success, as far as Jane would admit. For the whole day, she had spent it hanging the shimmery navy blue gauze from posts about the area in front of the compound, trusting the strange machines of the radio to broadcast music until it was too late, and then, she trusted to the musicians that were in attendance to play. There was much dancing to be had, there was that much.
And there was food in plentiful number, and all things that Stuart would like, including barbequed pork and his very favourite of pies and many other treats befitting a celebration. There were muffins and vegetables, all vaguely sweetened, and a fruit salad by the rest. There were drinks as well, of both regular and alcoholic form, for Robb and Moril had been so very kind to donate it and it was all so very beautiful.
A proper party with a proper stargazing theme, all for Stuart's birthday.
She herself
had changed into a dress that did nothing to conceal the weight gain from her pregnancy and she knew Stuart favoured such a thing, so she did mind a whit.
There was ever so much done and she hoped that people would attend for Jane was thoroughly excited for the night to begin and what it might bring.
