Since I was well enough yesterday to leave the clinic as a patient, I thought that today I would be well enough to go back to it as a doctor and at least catch up on administrative things. Eddie left Emmy with Eostre in the kitchen -- always a safe place for the child though he expected to get her back on something of a sugar high when he returned for her -- and poked his head into the clinic.

"Uh, hi," he said, looking around a little. "I'm looking for my wife?"

"I'm sorry - unless she's a patient, I haven't seen anyone come in or out in the last couple of hours," I said apologetically. "I'll keep an eye out for her though, if you'd like. What's her name?"

"Lily," Eddie told her, stepping a little closer and looking around some more. "Lily Strombeck. She's not a patient, though, she works here sometimes. She just delivered a baby? And she helped during the dinosaur thing, so I thought she might be here checking up."

"Oh, yes, I've met Lily," I said, remembering. "She hasn't been in today yet though, but if I see her I'll tell her you're looking for her. You must be Eddie - she mentioned you when we met. I'm Claire Fraser - it's nice to meet you."

"It's nice to meet you too," said Eddie, just as he felt a tug on his pantleg and looked down to see a little person clinging to him. When he looked up Eostre was at the doorway giving him an apologetic look. "I guess there's a reason they call them the terrible twos," he said. "Once they learn to walk, there's no stopping them."
