Jill'd finally gotten back to her hut- she'd luckily been able to get her still-unnamed horse to the caves before it'd been eaten, and now- now there was supposed to be no more dinosaurs outside of that side of the island. The running and hiding just seemed too familiar, as did the stream of wounded flowing into the Compound. She'd seen all of it before, the ravages of claws and teeth on flesh, the blood trail dripping to where the medics were.
And she'd been underground. She acted like it didn't bother her, but she would sit on the stairs as high as she could. As close as she could to the surface. They weren't going to be trapped in here, weren't going to die down here.
... She'd grown quieter and quieter as time went on.
But now, she was going back home, even though 'home' was now little more then all of her clothes and things stretched out on branches to dry, the walls leaning slightly crazily in the mud. Her bow and mail had luckily been hanging up on the wall and were saved from the worst of it, but she feared that her shoes from home would never be the same.
But she pushed aside the fabric that she'd retacked as a door, and her breath caught in her throat. She made a soft sound, dropping to her knees because in the mud and bits of her life she'd not managed to unearth from the muck before she'd heard about the dinosaurs was the
the smallest dinosaur she'd ever seen. The green and red were streaked with mud, and it's leg looked broken - it must have come into her hut to hide, but-
It was dead.
It was the last straw; the destruction of her home, having to stay in the Compound- She just sat back on her heels, and started to cry.
