Part of Clarice was exceptionally sorry that she'd not volunteered for dinosaur containment, as she would have appreciated the opportunity to empty an entire clip into one of their heads. Not that she actually would have -- It was wasteful -- but the idea was nice.

Jim was inside, but she couldn't bring herself to even set foot in the clinic, the memory of her father's death welling up strong in her chest in the form of a panic attack. She'd stood outside the door for a good five minutes, rendered immobile, before shaking herself back into motion and making her way outside. There were a lot of things that Clarice Starling could take, but some that she absolutely could not.

Someone had to defend the Compound, to secure the area for the incoming search and rescue teams, and it was something to keep her occupied. Being occupied was good, kept her from running mad.

They'd started fires around the perimeter, and she walked silently just inside the ring, hair pulled back and gun held by her thigh as she strained to hear anything unusual.

[OOC: This is a gathering post for anyone helping to defend the compound. Sorry for swiping the post, Jessie, but she was about to drive me crazy if I didn't give her something to do.]
