It was a relatively quiet evening in the clinic - not that I was complaining. I had brought a plate of food from the party to the clinic, and I sat at the desk to eat it in relative peace. After a moment he made to move towards it only to end up walking sideways instead. He stared at the bed longingly and wondered why he was further away rather than in it.

"Two bottles?" Only two bottles? Hmm. "Well, you're doing all right for all that." I grasped him firmly by the upper arm and steered him towards the nearest bed. "There you go. Sleep it off and you'll feel just terrible in the morning," I said cheerfully.

He mumbled something that even he didn't understand but followed her orders climbing into the bed and slumping bonelessly. Blinking about for a minute he looked down his legs and absently noticed he was missing a shoe. "Ah hell, loths me shoe." Half a moment of alcolhol influenced thinking concerning finding the shoe was promptly ened when he passed out.
