It hadn't been so bad at first, the cold and snow and everything that had come with it, but it was getting old fast. Logan was starting to miss being outside, being in the water with the sun beating down on him. These days the only time he was outside he was walking as fast as he could from the hut to the compound of vice versa ( Read more... )

Pam was on her way out of the compound, all bundled up against the cold and arms crossed over her chest. She had a hat pulled down over her head, making her hair fluff out the back a little bit more than usual.

She had to take the stairs carefully because they were starting to get loaded with ice and she was not all that interested in sliding down them feet first to smack her head or something.

Logan almost felt bad about throwing a snowball at Pam. Almost. But once she was down the stairs, there was really nothing stopping him.

Watching her closely, he picked up the snowball and aimed it right at her head. He threw it just hard enough to make sure she'd feel it, and then quickly tried to duck out of sight.

Pam froze the minute something firm hit the back of her head. She squeezed her eyes shut, clamping down on a shriek as snow started to melt down her neck and between her shoulder blades. She heard a scuffling noise coming from behind her, but also above her, so she slowly turned around, scanning the trees as she went.

That's when she saw the snow falling down from the roof.

Logan knew Pam would probably figure it all out pretty quickly, and he weighed his options. He could either keep hiding and wait for one pissed off Pam to make her way up to the roof, or he could show himself and hope that she wasn't too annoyed.

Logan chose option three. None of the above.

Trying his best to stay out of site, he headed towards the ladder in hopes of climbing down and looking innocent.

Well, there was no way she was climbing up on the roof. Especially not with all the snow up there. Jim would probably kill her if she didn't fall to her death in the first place.

She stared up at the roof and huffed softly. "I'll eventually find out who you are," she called. "Then you'll wish I didn't." She didn't really mean it as mean, she just meant when she figured out who it was, she was going to pounce on them and shove their face in the snow. Or something like that.

Logan hopped to the ground and dusted himself off, making sure he looked innocent before heading out from behind the wall and over to Pam.

"Who are you talking to?" he asked curiously, his hands shoved into his coat pockets to hide his snow coated gloves.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "You, probably," she replied, reaching back to try and get the snow out of her shirt and coat. "If I get sick, it'll be your fault because you threw snowballs at me."

She knew she probably looked utterly ridiculous as she tried to reach around behind her and pull her clothes far enough away from her body to let the remaining snow fall out, but she didn't care.

Logan gave her his best 'who me?' look and offered her a grin. "I'm sure you'll be fine," he told her, brushing snow from her hair.

"You better hope I'll be fine," she corrected as she leaned over and shoved his shoulder. "Why were you up on the roof?" she asked, glancing up at it. "Isn't it slippery?"

"Huh? Uh, yeah, I guess under all the snow and stuff it is. I dunno. I don't really care though I guess," Logan admitted.

Pam chewed on her lip, but didn't say what she was thinking, You should be careful. "I've never been up there," she told him instead. "But, there's no way I'm going up there with all that snow on it."

"Oh yeah? You should, after the snow melts. I go there a lot. To think or be alone..." to ponder suicide. Logan forced a smile and shrugged.

"Yeah, maybe," she replied softly. After a moment, she turned to him and smiled brightly. "So, I haven't seen you lately. What've you been up to?"

"Uh... not too much, just stuff. Things with Neil and the usual," Logan shrugged. "You?"

"The same as always. Work, dodging killer snowballs, stuff like that," she listed randomly.

After a moment of silence, she asked, "Wanna walk me home?" The look on her face made it obvious she was only joking, but she wouldn't turn him away if he said yes.

Logan raised a brow and then nodded. "If that's what you want," he told her, offering his arm with a smirk of a grin. "I was gonna head that way anyway."
