It hadn't been so bad at first, the cold and snow and everything that had come with it, but it was getting old fast. Logan was starting to miss being outside, being in the water with the sun beating down on him. These days the only time he was outside he was walking as fast as he could from the hut to the compound of vice versa ( Read more... )

Stepping out of the compound and into the cold, I shiver as soon as the bitter chill hits my face, leaning over the steaming mug of coffee clutched in my hands and hoping it'll help me warm the fuck up already.

I pause at the bottom of the steps, adjusting my scarf around my neck and coughing a little, the cold burning my throat a little raw. Its not even that cold today, but I've got zero tolerance. I'm ready for the heat to come back. Sure, the snow is pretty and all, but its damn near painful.

Logan nearly laughed when he saw Neil step out into the cold, bundled up and warming himself with a cup of coffee. It was just too perfect.

He took a moment to quietly pack another two snowballs, and then carefully aimed his first right at the back of Neil's head. He threw it hard and laughed as it hit Neil dead on, exploding in a cloud of white chunks.

I squawk out this embarrassing surprised sound when I'm unexpectedly smacked in the face with snow. Cold, wet snow that's slinking down the side of my neck and into the collar of my sweater. I startle, the mug falling from my hands and thunking dully against the frozen ground, coffee splattering all over the legs of my jeans. "Fuck!"

I whirl around, trying to find out where the fuck it came from, doing this ridiculous, flailing spin as I scan the nearby trees. Then it dawns on me where I am, and I draw my eyes up to the roof top and his fucking smug grin. Fucking figures.

"You son of bitch," I laugh, already moving toward the ladder, my fallen mug forgotten. Just hope no one trips on it and busts their ass.

Logan laughed and gathered up the other two snowballs, packing them a little tighter and tossing them in Neil's direction as the other boy headed towards the ladder.

"Your face, oh man, dude you should have seen it," he said loudly, starting to pack yet another snowball as he heard Neil start to climb the ladder.

I dodge the next one, but the third hits my shoulder, exploding all over my coat, little pinpricks of ice splattering against the side of my face.

"Fuck you! Like you would've looked so fucking calm if you'd been pelted in the head with snow out of no where," I laugh, climbing the ladder quickly, panting out little laughs as I pull myself up the rungs and pull myself over the edge of the roof.

Cackling out another laugh, Logan held up the new snowball in warning, a grin breaking out over his face.

"Which is why I don't just walk around blindly letting people pelt me with snowballs," Logan replied with a snort, unable to stop smirking as he looked at Neil.

"Oh right. I'm supposed to keep my guard up, huh?" I ask, grinning at him as I lean down to scoop snow off the rooftop, packing it into a ball with my gloved hands.

I smirk at him, taking a step toward him despite his handful of snow and warning look, letting my own snowball fly right towards his stupid smug face.

Logan ducked. but the snowball still hit him, right on his neck actually. Bits of snow found their way under his scarf, melting and infiltrating his warm clothing.

Laughing, he threw another one of his own, his aim not quite as good this time.

Laughing triumphantly, I dodge the next, the snowball grazing my elbow and dusting my coat with snow before smashing against the rooftop.

I crouch down to scoop up another handful, pelting it at him hurriedly before I really get it packed well, so it just sort of falls apart mid air, raining snow all over his face and chest.

We're only a few feet apart now, and its sort of pointless hurling snow at each other with nothing to hide behind and when I could basically reach out and touch him.

"Nice weather we're having, huh?" Logan laughed, dusting the snow off his coat with a grin. He closed the space between them and cupped Neil's face with his still gloved hands.

Smirking, Logan leaned in to kiss him, pretending not to notice that his gloves were caked in snow.

I gasp into the kiss, snow pressing into my cheeks and melting against my skin, ice cold water running down my neck and under my scarf. Tensing, my body unconsciously withdraws from the cold even as I press closer to him, huffing out a laugh as I curl my gloved hands around his wrists and try to peel his snow-caked hands away from my face.

Laughing softly into the kiss, Logan let Neil pull his hands away, still grinning a little as he nipped at the other boy's lips.

"Cold?" He asked quietly.

"'m fine," I insist, words mumbled against his lips. But I shiver again uncontrollably as another chuck of melting ice slides under my scarf and I let out a quiet laugh, "Okay, yeah. Fucking freezing," I admit, pulling out of the kiss but still staying close.

"Wanna go back inside, get some more coffee?" Logan asked. "Or would you rather stay out here for a bit longer and take your chances with me and the snow?"

Cause Logan wasn't too cold, not yet, but he'd happily freeze Neil if it meant he got to warm the other boy up himself later.

"I think I'll take my chances. I can handle it," I say, raising an eyebrow like I'm challenging him to something. Which is fucking stupid 'cause all that's gonna happen is that I'm gonna freeze my fucking balls off.

Logan raised a brow in return, watching Neil for a long moment... and then abruptly knocking him over onto the snow covered roof.

He was quickly on top of him, pinning him down in the snow, playfully wrestling him in the cold. And it was cold, freezing even, way to cold for the two of them to be rolling around in the snow, but whatever. It was fun.
