He had been smoking up, but dude, he could not be this high, because right before his eyes was Lilly fucking Kane. And she was all bloody, just like all those gross crime scene photos come to life. Jesus...christ.
Lilly was still staring at her bloody fingers when she heard Dick's voice, the sound startling her and she immedately turned in his direction and shot him a glare.
"What, bleeding?" she asked, making no effort to hide her growing irritation with whatever the hell was going on. "Apparently. And it's seriously disgusting."
Dick, for one of the very few times in his life, was actually quiet and speechless. She was real. She was alive. Lilly was alive? She was, wasn't she?
He just wondered where Ronnie was, because dude, she needed to be like, there now. Or Duncan, cuz dude...Lilly. "Not doing you any favors," he agreed. "Eau de Murder Victim though never should have been your thing, though." Did she like, even get it?
She raised an eyebrow at that, just staring for a long minute. Dick was stoned, that much was obvious. And also useless, but what else was new?
Twisting around a bit, she managed to get to her feet and stumbled forward because ow and her hand went up to her head again like she was trying to keep it in place.
"Great, so like, you want to help me wash it off or something? Or are you just gonna stand there and stare at me?"
It was definitely what he should have said, but instead he just shrugged. "Yeah, there's like...showers or something." Really, what the fuck else was he supposed to say. 'You took a wrong turn at the bright light'? She didn't even know she was dead.
Lilly just stared at him and then tilted her head forward and gave a wave of her arms, like trying to scare him into continuing with his train of thought. Showers were good, a good start. Finding out where the showers were on this lame public beach or whatever it was, would be even better.
He just kept staring at her. Like he was seeing a ghost. It was intensely annoying.
Rolling her eyes, she gave up and sighed, one hand falling to rest on her hip. "Awesome, Dick. That's a lot of help."
It occurred to her then, that going home covered in blood could actually be kind of fun, if just to see the look on Celeste's face when she walked in the door.
He quickly tagged in along at her side. "Lilly, you're like, on a freakish island. You get that...right?" Dude, explaining this was already making his head hurt and he was definitely sobering up.
"Yeah, whatever," she replied with a snort and then stopped when she realized she had no idea where she was going. "Look, I'm not really in the mood for whatever stupid little game you and Logan are playing at right now, okay? Just help me find my car."
He let out a grunt of frustration, so totally close to just let her do what-the-fuck-ever Lilly always did. "Yeah, don't think you're gonna find it," he said with a shrug. "Cuz welcome to Island Paradiso."
"Island what?" she asked, the irritation showing in her voice as she turned back to glare at Dick. "Aren't you supposed to be in Mexico? And don't you dare tell me that you, like, drugged me and dragged me across the border, Dick."
Not that she had any problems with visiting Mexico, but she not want to be forced there and she especially did not want to be there with her currently-ex-boyfriend and his cronies.
Mexico? Sure, like, he visited all the time, but if she meant the time when they were in Tijuana when she was off getting offed..."Dude," he scoffed. "That was like, two years ago! And 'sides, Logan was coming back to like, beg for you, fuck, I don't know."
He and Beav had covered though. They were good friends, sticking by their buddy.
"That was like, two hours ago," Lilly argued and did a quick mental recap to make sure she wasn't the one completely losing it here. Yeah, no, there'd been the car wash and then the little jaunt to Logan's place to fuck around with...
Wait, what the fuck?
"Dick, what the hell is going on?" Even to her own ears, she sounded decidedly less sure of herself than normal.
"Dude, it was not!" he argued, because she was being totally difficult. "You were all over the news cuz you got offed two years ago by Logan's Dad, or something and then all this crap happened and Ronnie was like, hell-bent on solving it, all Nancy-Drewified."
"Lilly?" he asked warily. "Are you like..." Real?

"Okay, what are you on," said then, trying to keep her voice calm. She had a feeling it wasn't working. "And where the hell is Veronica, anyway?"

"Great," she replied, sounding oddly cheerful all of a sudden. "How about you lead me to them then?"
