I have taken some rum, drank a little and hidden the rest. Now I am looking to see what I can find and, unfortunately, it's Lucius.

"By the Valar it's you," I say, voice dripping with disgust. "Why don't you go take your book with the pictures in it and hide away so that we don't have to look at you?"

Lucius's face crumpled. He'd been smiling brightly, working on his organization and for someone to come by and just tear him down. Why...it was unfathomable.

"I was merely minding my own business," he said softly. "You don't have to be rude."

"No, I don't have to be, but I can if I wish and in your case I have no reason to restrain myself." I scowl at him. The man was a Death Eater and the things those books say about him tell me that he deserves far worse than rudeness.

"I'm surprised you have it in you to come out among decent people." Oh, that's right, the people on this island are far from decent.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he said, going back to organizing his books. "I'm merely trying to help my boyfriend Severus by collecting potions books."

Alcuin's face went white as soon as he stepped into the rec room and recognized Lucius.

He began to back through the doorway, hoping that he wasn't noticed.

"Alcuin!" Lucius said warmly. "How've you been?" Really, it was wonderful to see friends.

Alcuin froze.

The tone of his voice... it had to be some sort of trick.

He had no idea what to say, but didn't want to seem pathetic by just turning tail and running or something, so he just regarded Lucius suspiciously, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

"Would you like to help me? I'm alphabetizing the bookshelf," he said cheerily.

Severus never thought he'd be happier to see Lucius Malfoy. Not because of the whole sex thing, but because everyone else on the island seemed to have gone completely, stark-raving mad.

Please let Lucius be normal, he thought as he approached the other man.

And then all the little details Snape saw in Lucius' body language, the happy little tune he was humming, the fact that he didn't have his usual aura of I'm better than you all clicked in Snape's head.

"Oh, not you too," he muttered under his breath, trying to make a quick escape before Lucius actually noticed him.

"Severus!" Lucius said brightly. "I've found scores of potions books for you. I'm putting them in alphabetical order just the way you like!"

"Uh."

Oh, this wasn't going to go well.

"That's wonderful, Lucius," he said, backing away towards the door.

"But Sevvie," he pleaded, "You don't want to spend quality time with me?"
