the doctor is in

It was kind of nice to have the clinic all to himself, but it was also magnifying how bored out of his skull House was. Now that he'd finally stopped obsessing over his death (okay, near-death - perhaps it had become less interesting once Cuddy informed him that he'd recovered), he'd thought back to the guy with the swollen tongue. Lamenting that nothing interesting like that happened around here. What would cause a guy's tongue to swell like that anyway? Allergic reaction? Infection? Cameron probably thought it was lupus.

He sighed and leaned back in his chair, cane balanced on the floor so that when he tipped it back onto the back two legs he didn't fall backwards. See, this was the real problem with this place. It wasn't Wilson, it wasn't even his leg (though that was a harder argument to make) - it was that he missed his job.

Had he actually gotten excited the other day over a case of strep throat? Christ. This place was like constant clinic duty and nothing interesting. Nothing.

... and yet he'd still rather be doing strep throat and broken arms than nothing.

[OOC: So House would like some patients. Er, more importantly, I would like House to have some patients. :) Meeting new people is good, too. Any minor ailments are fine; hell, he'll even take out splinters. And if you want it to be something more complicated that might take some figuring out, feel free to AIM me first at Ravenflaw. And anyone else welcome as well, of course!]
