So, as promised, before and after pictures of the little wooden medicine cabinet I got for $4 at Goodwill. I'd cleaned it and had it hanging in the bathroom doing its job for a while just the way
And it was ok. But I wasn't super keen on the fleur de lis, so I decoupaged it:
Voila!
I happened across a picture in a magazine of an old brown cabinet, so that worked quite well, and the main picture is from the cover of a local free Austin magazine. It's a piece done by
Alyson Fox, called "Bunnies."
It is hanging happily in my bathroom now. Awesome!
And then, because I happened to have all the ingredients (except cheese, but HEB is a short, delightful autumn walk from the apartment...) Jon and I made stuffed poblanos with the small poblanos from my garden. Delicious!
I have been informed that they may be too spicy for me (by Jon, who has eaten some of his...I wanted to finish this entry before I dove in.) More cheese always solves that, right?
Yeah, more cheese pretty well solves anything.
Hockey game tonight! Jon's car broke down on the way home from Wednesday's, so let's hope the Cedar Park Arena does not cause my car to suffer a similar fate tonight...because sitting on the side of 183 for an hour waiting for a tow truck at midnight while people fly past you doing 80...is not the greatest. Though cheese would probably help that situation also.>
Update: Holy bejeezus those little suckers are hot. Maybe hotter than the enchiladas Kelli once made with two tablespoons of cayenne pepper instead of cumin. Yikes! Well, at least Jon could eat them. And the filling was good on its own. :D
