If you ever get a chance to read George Orwell's essay, "Shooting an Elephant," the first couple paragraphs describe a lot of american kids i know who consider themselves rebellious. I feel like they dont have much foundation to their hatred of their own country's practices, but rather feel like they're are just morally wrong in general. I was reading the essay again for english and i was struck with this thought. We might have started a bunch of trouble in world for shitty reasons, but in the end, we're a lot better than the regimes we replaced.

Sometimes i wish the world thought more like teenagers. We seem to think that everything is simple. Its like, both sides of the israeli palestinian fight say they want to end fighting. In my mind, i'm sayin, "uhhh......so just....stop. (quizzical look)" If everyone thought like that wed be better off. Plus, border disputes should be resolved with an arm wrestle or rock, paper, scissors. And the loser should get a consolation prize......like ice cream....yeha, ice cream. That would be good.
