What the fuck on a steaming shiskebab?

I have a TV in my room. Generally, I turn this TV on to help me fall asleep, and stay caught up with the dub of Fullmetal Alchemist (because I'm too lazy to look for the dubbed series online and I don't care about subs). Of course, this implies that my TV was turned onto Cartoon Network when I fell asleep. It's all good; I do this a lot.

But when I wake up after 5 to go to the bathroom, I wind up seeing strange things I probably wish I hadn't (like reruns of the Super Globetrotters).

But no. What I got at 6 in the morning this time was not anything innocent like that. What I got was Idaten Jump.

Idaten Jump is, quite simply, an anime about mountain biking. And yes, they include neat stuff like talking about out-in-out and drifting a mountain bike (?!), but what really scares me is that this show is aimed for a much younger audience than the Initial D crowd. These bikers are not ordinary bikers, oh no. There's a gay guy masquerading as the grim reaper, and the main character thinks his bike catches on fire on command. There's a lengthy transformation sequence when they put their helmets on, which somehow makes the rest of their biking clothes appear. And of course, since these are mountain bikes, EVERY BIKE IS A SINGLE SPEED. They have pedals and handbrakes, and that's it (the particular episode I saw, the main character had worn out his brakes on a previous race and had to do the whole course without them).

Also, it sounds like the dub was made by 4Kids, judging by the four thousand sucky puns in the episode. The gay grim reaper guy's voice sounded like James'.
