No Dante No Cry

The first week has come and gone, and it has been really a good week.

After such a long break I really enjoyed being back at uni, and I've really enjoyed all of my lessons! Ok, there are still the usual troubles: the new rules have been approved only on Thursday, and I still don't know if I can switch to them or stick to the old ones; this basically means that I'm not 100% sure about which courses I'm going to take this year. And they told us about it only on Thursday, when we thought we had our timetables done! Of course, we can't even complete our online-subscription to the courses, because our secretary couldn't activate them before the rules were approved.

Then there were the usual troubles with uncorrect online informations: on Tuesday we ended up searching through half the university looking for our classroom, because we knew we had a lesson but the right room wasn't indicated anywhere! And on Wednesday our Greek lesson started at 13.15, but online it said 14, so I turned up alone in the first hour. In the second hour I was joined by two girls who started speaking English with the teacher instead of French, and they turned out to be from Lituania. I have no problem with English, so that's ok. The funny thing was when they were talking with the professor about the meaning of a Greek word, and they started speaking a language that was probably Russian (because I know my teacher can speak Russian, but I doubt he speaks Lithuanian, too). Luckily they switched back to English and French right after that!

The best news of all week was the following, though: we don't have to do the exam about Dante anymore! We discovered on Tuesday that there's another course we can take instead of Dante, and of course, almost everybody decided to go there! I'll keep following the Lectura Dantis about the Purgatory, of course, because it's really interesting, but without exams. And I don't think I wasted my time reading Hell, anyway: everybody who studies Italian litterature should read it at least once. I'm glad I did it, although I won't have the exam!

Today I took a free day ans stayed home, because tomorrow the uni's closed.
I'll go back tomorrow in the evening: my brother's coming with me, because he's on holidays... that's a good occasion to show him a bit of the city and the university! Well, we'll have quite a lot of people visiting us in our flat, actually... it'll be a crowded week!
