I don't like letting my LJ lapse, but I'm back to work full time and haven't had the inspiration to start typing. Went to Vancouver two weeks ago for my Grandma's 90th birthday, where we also celebrated my mom's 65th and my 32nd. It was nice to see all of my family again, considering it's insanely rare we're all together at one place and time. But the party was good even though there were a lot of people I didn't know and family members I rarely speak to.
Some highlights:
- Walked around Vancouver for a bit with my brother-in-law as he's a photography buff and wanted to take pictures of the massive Olympic torch.
- Went to a Greek restaurant with everyone after the party and was treated to good food and a belly dancer.
- Introduced him to Chatroulette and that very same day we were treated to the infamous masturbating Kermit (not to mention my mom and sister who happened to be sitting at the table).
- Also found out that Google has my house and street (and my work) on their maps. I'm kind of blown away that they came to my small town and actually went down my street.
- Came home with some gift cards, a specialty drill bit and some blades for my new reciprocating saw.
The weather's still kind of crappy here; we had a blizzarnado the other day. You know, when the wind's up high and snow's caught in the draft; it looked like we were in the middle of a snow globe. But today looks nice (if not cold) and it should be on the upswing now.
