I just installed my new stereo receiver in my truck today. I had to get a wire harness adapter to connect the Kenwood deck to the Dodge's factory harness and it came in the mail the other day. The only thing is, I had to solder the wires together and I've barely soldered in my lifetime. It was a crash course to remember all the steps (but thanks to a few Youtube videos, it came back quick). But I'm also using a soldering iron from the 60's (my dad's, or maybe my grandfather's). I think it's actually the first one ever made, ever. If I want to keep this particular skill fresh, I need to get a new one. Something smaller, unlike the large gun currently resting in my work area.
But it worked on the first try, every connection was good and nothing burned out. But now I have to get an adapter for the antenna...
