1/3 of my life down...

Thanks to those who wished me a happy birthday. It came and went without much fanfare. Thursday night had dinner with my mom and opened my presents. You know you're getting older when all your presents are represented as a pile of envelopes. Got a few gift cards from Sears but what really surprised me is that my mom, grandpa, sister and brother-in-law all got together and got me a new computer! Talk about surprised. I'd made a casual remark during Christmas when they were here about replacing my computer soon and I suppose they jumped the gun (my brother-in-law is a computer technician in his hometown so he was able to get a good deal). I got it all hooked up on Sunday and it's a sweet machine. Running Windows Vista with a lot of RAM and space, with a lot of programs. I'm slowly putting things back together and will start transferring files soon from the old computer (which I'm keeping as a back-up; it's served me faithfully for 6 1/2 years). Went out Friday with some friends, but with spring break and Easter falling together it was kind of low-key. And 30 doesn't feel any different than 29. Go figure.
