Mr. Walker,

I would like to add my voice to the thousands opposing your Budget Repair Bill. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and have always appreciated the education I received both at my small, rural grade school and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Future generations of Wisconsinites deserve teachers, TAs, professors, and administrative staff as great as the ones I had, and I am very worried that the consequences of your bill will encourage many of our best current and future teachers to leave the profession and/or state once their income here is no longer sufficient to support their families.

This is not limited to the field of education, of course - for example, when the social workers have reluctantly found other jobs because they simply cannot make ends meet in their chosen career, who will victims of abuse turn to? The public sector must be kept healthy.

My mother teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Many of my friends and their parents are public school teachers and nurses - who chose their jobs not for the pay but because of their passion and desire to help others. This issue negatively affects not only my own family and my friends' families, but thousands of families across the state, both directly and indirectly.

Other aspects of the bill, such as changes in Medicaid funding structures, are also of great concern.

I love Wisconsin and am proud to be from such a great state, but I sincerely worry about the Dairy State's future if a measure like this is pushed through without first including input from all sides and giving due consideration to other options for balancing the budget.

Please do what is best for Wisconsin.

Also, the House barred Planned Parenthood from all federal funding?!? What the fuck is happening to my country?
