Oh my god. I've been up since nine this morning, and watching Live 8 since about 10 waiting, watching and waiting knowing pink floyd had reunited for this beautiful cause, knowing this would be history. Well after many fine acts the time finally came, the moment had finally arrived, to be able to see Nick Mason, Richard Wright, David Gilmour, and I say very proudly, Roger Waters on that stage together after 24 years. I had originally heard they were only going to do two songs, and I wasn't about to complain, when the camera was moving in on the stage "breathe" could be heard, and it was fantastic, then onto "money" and after that one then went into "wish you were here" and while it was intro-ing Roger paid tribute to Syd Barret. After that one was done, I thought they were going to take their bows, but I was wrong, I about fell on my face when I saw David Gilmour pick up his strat once again and tear into "comfortably numb" This was so wonderful, I had tears in my eyes, seeing this, hearing these guys back together, even if it was just for those few moments, pigs have flown as it was said. And to top it off they seemed to be enjoying themselves, perhaps they've put all past differences behind them, this is definitely one of the greatest things I've seen in my time.
Yes I wish I were there...
